The tryout for the national team that will face in a friendly game Cyprus on March 24th have started. The fitness training will take part on the training ground of the Olympic Stadium (OAKA) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 19:00. Training are held by Mr. Zisis Kourelos.
I believe that Cyprus are preparing hard for this fixture and will be a stern test for the visit of Greece. I would say Greece beware!!! This maybe Cyprus first international by they have a number of players returing from South Africa and UK for this fixture and they also have an Irish Coach! I will be listening out for this result with great interest
guys beware CYPRUS you are in for a BIG SUPRISE…
CYPRUS WILL BE THE TEAM TO BEAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE…
COMMOOOOOON CYPRUS!!!!!!!!! LETS KICK THE GREEK ASSS……SHOW THEM HOW TO PLAY…
From what you are saying it seems that you are not from Cyprus…
yes i am m from cyprus..half cypriot..
Allez Chypre… It will be a big game for Cyprus that wants to show that its new IRB membership is a good think for European rugby.
Of course we respect the Cyprus team, though if we play against the «World’s Selection of chypriot passport holders», this is another issue (”they have a number of players returning from South Africa and UK for this fixture”).
Good game lads! I hope we ll be able to communicate in greek…
yes indeed should be a great day for all..
Hi guys. As a member of the Cyprus Rugby Federation Committee we are in absolute appreciation for Greece coming over to Cyprus for this historic match! Although feedom of speech is tool that people sometimes abuse, I hope that it will be taken in true sportsmanship style and all in the spirit of Rugby. We hold Greece very high and we see you as an example and believe me that we are proud to have you on our Island taking part in this wonderful sport! Both the Greece and Cyprus Presidents of Rugby have worked very hard to make this day a success and so will be the case on the field with the players. Yes, a few Cypriot players will be returning back to Cyprus for the game. What is important is to keep the spirit of the game glowing bright and proud so that nobody from the outside looking in can point a finger at either Cyprus or Greece. The result of the game is not important – the essence of our 2 countries coming together and showing the rest of the Rugby world that we can play and play well is of the absolute essence. Be proud that our Presidents are positive about Rugby and they both want to see it grow to the higest possible level. But they can only do so much – the rest is up to us. We owe our countries our best – we Rugby our undivided attention and commitment! See you all on the 24th – you do us proud! Bravo se olous sas!
I have a delimma > Which one of the two teams to support? Being Greek with Cypriot origins it’s hard for me to support one of the two. So, I have fount the ultimate solution > May the best one wins!
Good luck to both, Greece and Cyprus, Cyprus and Greece! May the sport be wider spread in both our two countries for the benefit of all!
Good Luck Tough Guyz!
score 39 -3 cyprus
